Update: our contest is now over. Everyone who posted in the comments below should have received e-mails from us by now – if not, contact us via the contact form. Thanks to everyone who participated!

Before our game goes live in April, we have to go through an extremely important process. We need to send out several advance copies of the game to a group of unbiased people who will play through the game and give us all kinds of FEEDBACK – tell us what they like, what they think is frustrating, what is too confusing or too fast, and report any bugs (problems with the game) that they find. This is an extremely important step in the development of a game since as developers, we often can’t spot our own problems, because we know the game TOO well!
In return for scouring our game nice ‘n clean, Beta testers not only get to see an advance copy, they get their name listed in the game’s credits.
Who should this select group of testers be? Well, here’s our chance for another CONTEST! The first 50 people who post about Tiger Eye: Curse of the Riddle Box in some form on the internet will become Beta testers!
RULES:
- Post about our game somewhere publicly accessible on the internet – your blog, youtube, a forum, etc. Your post must contain a link to www.passionfruitgames.com.
- (What we are NOT accepting for now: Twitter/Facebook/Myspace updates, or commenting anywhere on the PassionFruit website. We also reserve the right to declare a link “invalid” if it contains inappropriate content. –>For those of you who don’t have blogs, the easiest thing to do is find a romance or gaming site and post about our game in a comments area or a discussion forum!<–)
- Paste the link to your post below, in the COMMENTS area for this page!
- Before you submit your comment, make sure you have entered a VALID EMAIL address for yourself – that is the email we will use to contact you about Beta testing. Note: your email will NOT be visible to the public.
- The first 50 people who post VALID links will be added to our Beta tester list! Accepted Beta testers should receive an email from us within 48 hours of posting – if you do not receive an email (and have checked your spam box), there was most likely a problem with the email you submitted (e.g. there’s a typo in the email or your mailbox is full). You’ll need to contact us via our contact page.
- Beta testers will receive an advance copy of the game in early March, and will have their names listed in the credits of Tiger Eye.
BETA TESTER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- We will ask testers to play through the game as far as they can get (we’re guessing it will take 4-6 hours to complete a playthrough of the Beta build).
- Any time a tester spots a bug in the game, or finds something particularly annoying or confusing, we’ll ask them to report it via a private Beta tester web page.
- At the end of the playthrough, we’ll ask testers to fill out an online survey about the game.
Have fun!

This is so exciting! I can’t wait to try the game!
I posted to my facebook page status.
This sounds like a great game!
Since I don’t have a website, a blog, or a Facebook page, I’m posting here as proof of posting on the Internet. This should qualify. I’d love to play my way through the game as a beta tester and will give honest feedback.
Thanks for making us aware of that loophole, JanLo. I’ve updated our post to state that posting anywhere on the PassionFruit site doesn’t count. But I guess you slipped through the hole in time ;)
I’ve posted to my Livejournal account:

My day job is as an information architect, part of which involves quality assurance testing on websites. I love puzzles games and am excited about the chance to help beta test Tiger Eye. Thank you for this opportunity! :)

I actually started talking about the game on Secret Identity Podcast (http://www.secretidentitypodcast.com/) in the Action Point Counter Point game review segment the last time we recorded. A link to this contest is posted on the podcast’s forums here: http://www.thecomicforums.com/forum2//index.php?showtopic=134443&st=40&gopid=1346127&#entry1346127
I’d love to have all three of our game reviewers from the Action Point Counter Point segment in on the beta testing!
I posted about it on Twitter! http://twitter.com/junedaisy/status/9044178269
Can’t wait for this game!
Hi Kelly Anne, note that Twitter updates are not valid (sorry if that was unclear in our original post – I just revised it) and also, posts must contain a link to the PassionFruit website itself, not our Twitter page. Thanks!
Posted all about it in my deadjournal. This is really exciting. I can’t wait to see the jealousy on my fiance’s face when (if?) I tell him I’m going to be a beta tester for a video game. Ha!
Sorry, link to it is here:

Very exciting! I love what you guys are doing, how you’re involving the fans, and the way you really seem to be honoring the book.

Hi there, I hope I can still take part! I posted about the game to my blog here:
http://cathepsut.livejournal.com/
And this is the specific post:
http://cathepsut.livejournal.com/722172.html
Nice idea! How come you don’t allow Twitter, FB or MySpace?
Hi Cathy, one reason we’re not allowing the social networking sites is that most people set their profiles to “private” and it’s harder to verify their posts. Also, this allows for more creativity and longer text :) Welcome to the Beta tester list!
Cathepsut!!
Yeah…we can discuss it together ;-)

I am excited about this game. I am a big fan of the Dirk and Steele series and all of Marjorie’s books.
The post link is: http://mail8d.blogspot.com/2010/02/marjorie-m-liu-has-game-couing-out-soon.html
The funny thing is that I have a previous post about her books that I wrote on this blog about 15 months ago.
Hey! Thanks for the awesome opportunity to test out the game =) I got here via Melissa’s interview at The GameJobHunter Blog and I just find this company’s story so inspiring! So that’s what I wrote about (and the game, of course)! Super excited about this game, keep up the good work!

Hi,
I have not received an email form you yet. :(
Hm, we emailed you about 10 minutes after you made the first post! It may have been spammed. If you don’t get the second email we just sent, please add “info@passionfruitgames.com” to your safe senders list and send us an email at that same address. Thanks!
